We are LOVING the new library location at Gulf Coast Medical Center! The Medical Library, now located on the third floor of the Medical Office Building, is in a larger, totally newly constructed space. As you enter the library, your eye is immediately drawn to the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows which showcase a bird’s eye view of the activity on Metro Parkway. In front of these windows is a table where you can stow your food and beverages while you use one of the spacious computer stations. Each computer station is fitted out with our patrons in mind and boasts a modern three-sided privacy screen, a comfortable leather desk chair, and earphones for your listening convenience. In addition to computers, printing and fax services are also available at the Medical Library. You can even check out books from our growing collection when the library staff is not present using a form provided at the front desk!
Lee Health Staff can badge into the Medical Library at GCMC any time during the hours the building is open, between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. A Medical Library staff member is available to check out AHA manuals, process book returns and fine payments, and provide assistance three days a week (Tuesday 8:00-4:30, Wednesday 8:00-4:30, and Thursday 7:30-4:00). Please call to verify that the library will be staffed if you need assistance with any of these issues, as sometimes staff is not present due to meetings or illness. The book drop box is still located in the hospital near Subway by the south elevators.
